The Letter of my Identity
Do you think that when it’s spelled out
Those who heard would remember.
Those who have known you for years
Remember something so important,
so necessary to you.
That it pains you every time you see
The part that is missing.
It feels like they truly just don’t care.
They don’t want to pay attention
I’m just one of their students
I’m just an acquaintance
I’m just a stranger.
How do you forget the important thing
That makes me feel different
Don’t throw me in with the norm
Even Google wants to correct my identity.
Fix this! This word isn’t spelled correctly!
But when you forget the first H
You can’t spell Johnathan

I wanted to write this poem because I've had this issue for years. I really don't like that teachers, church members, or even some friends spelled my name incorrectly. I hope you enjoy this serious and silly poem about the spelling of my name
