Jamais Vu
Jamais
Vu
The lesser known brother
Counterpart of recollection
Sequins in place of eyes
His brain too tired to think
Sips of the burning drink
and his memory is blank
Fleeting memories flip like a troupe of acrobats
Slipping,moving,twitching
like burning ants under a magnifying glass
Pill on the tounge-body numb
His throat parched-he needs words to gorge
on
Mouth stained crimson red
grasping for thoughts
glowing like bright diamonds in place of diamonds
He took too many
drank too much
wanted to feel numb
But ended up having an old candle in place of a brain
Melting wax hardening into his cranial cavity
The cerebrospinal fluid dissolving
into stars then swelling into a
red giant then rotting and dying
in a marvelous show of explosion
If only every death ended up as a supernova
He can't remember
Guess the sweet disease of unfamilliarity finally infected him

Jamais Vu: Meaning never seen, refers to the phenomenon of experiencing a situation that one recognizes in some fashion but still seems unfamilliar. Opposite of deja vu.
