The Night Before The Race
It was the night before the race and all over town,
Runners were carb-loading hoping for a good race.
Their race day uniforms were hung with great care,
Along with spikes, watches, and bibs all there.
The many weeks of training were not fun,
Intervals, tempo runs, and long runs were done.
Hydration has all been perfected,
And thankfully no pain was detected.
When race day arrives runners fill the streets.
Everyone wishes them all a good race admiring their dedication and heart.
As the miles pass by they run with all their might,
Mile splits are a very welcoming sight.
The crowds are all cheering and having a great time.
Giving runners high fives as they cross over the finish line.
May the runners always be such a wonderful delight,
Happy running to all and to all a good night.
