The Man

The man with the straw hat

Comes home from work

He eats

He sleeps

And he wakes up again

The man with the straw hat

Doesn’t like when I curse

He eats

He sleeps

And he wakes up again

The man with the straw hat

Doesn’t smile anymore

He eats

He sleeps

And he wakes up again

The man with the straw hat

Didn’t come home today

"It's funny. When you leave your home and wander really far, you always think, 'I want to go home.' But then you come home, and of course it's not the same. You can't live with it, you can't live away from it. And it seems like from then on there's always this yearning for some place that doesn't exist." - Danzy Senna

Your use of repetition is very powerful, it's very impactful when it suddenly changes and works well with the actual words of the piece as well. I love that you refer to him as 'the man with the straw hat' because it creates a feeling of distance when normally the implication of living with someone is that you're somewhat close, but the relationship described here is one between strangers.
