About Life

I set myself down to write a poem
I didn't know what I wanted to say
Maybe talk about my soft fuzzy purple pillow
It lies on my bed at night,
And I wrap it around me to do my schoolwork
Maybe to talk about how I wish it would snow
If it's going to be cold outside,
The molecules might as well quiet down
Fall from the cotton beds they lie in
Dancing fairies outside my window
That I watch with unabridged awe and wonder
Maybe I wanted to complain about life
Say that acting your age is overrated
We should all go back to when we had no responsibilities
And that it doesn't matter how the world ends
As long as we're happy
Except that none of that would be true
It's all true, I'm not lying
But it's not what I wanted to talk about
Not what I wanted to say
Why should that capture people's attention?
Hold them like a thread they find on the floor
And find that the spool has unwound
As it rolled down the stairs
I wanted to share my feelings on this world
On this life we all share
What is the meaning?
Everybody's is different
We all search for truth
And for love and affection
Search for our place
And for what we're destined to do
Our destiny is what we make it
Now I know there is someone up there
In the sky is where we put him
He lives in the heavens, we say
He lives also in my heart, and he loves me
That is what give me meaning to find him there
And grace, and love and mercy he's given to me
So my life is not so bad
It's blessed and filled with wonder
Speculation for sure, and anger
Grief, misunderstanding
I sat down here to write this poem
To share with you thoughts on my life
Thoughts on my dreams
I've told you my life, leave the dreams for another day
They are my future
You'll see it soon

Sometimes my thoughts flow better when I am random. But that is what I always am.
