St. John's College Summer Academy
St. John’s College Summer Academy is a residential, pre-college program that engages students in discussion-based classes taught by college faculty. Organized in week-long sessions, each session is designed around a specific theme that explores weighty questions and ideas. Stay for one or more weeks!
How can one know oneself? What law govern human beings? At the Summer Academy you’ll investigate these and other questions by reading works written by the greatest thinkers of Western culture and talking about their ideas. You’ll also participate in an eclectic array of workshops—from poetry writing to archery to swing dance—and enjoy off-campus excursions to museums and historic sites. As described by a recent Summer Academy alum, the program is the “perfect combination of intellectual conversation, bonding, and fun.”
The Summer Academy is a great introduction to college life and the intellectual freedom found in a liberal arts education. Summer Academy sessions are held on St. John’s two campus locations in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Annapolis, Maryland from June 24 – July 28, 2018. The price per session is $1,100, which includes room, meals, texts, activity fees, and cool St. John’s swag. Limited financial assistance is available.

“The on-campus activities were fun because many of them were new to me and because they are all parts of St. John's life, so it was an accurate taste of the college.”
“Everybody working at the Summer Academy was delightful - knowledgeable, interesting, extremely enthusiastic about the Program and invested in giving us the best possible experience.”
