One January Day

The cold air whistling through my ears was nowhere near loud enough to drown out my parents' hateful words. Why they wished to publicly disply their intense arguments, or whether they were even aware of the fact that they were, I will never fully know. Standing on the side walk across the street, I looked up at the open apartment window on the third floor. I looked like the rest of the observers who surrounded me, like I was just walking through and happened to stop for the intrest in this spectacle. Yet I still felt embarrassed, for me and for my parents. I decided that I couldn't go up to me room, but I couldn't stand on that ice covered sidewalk for much longer. January weather can be so cruel.
