Take your reins like a flower, not like a stone. Take your horse by your waist and your seat, not by your hand and never by force. If you do force, it is not the art of riding, it is something else. ~ Nuno Oliveira

Flames: orange and blue.
They flicker and sway around me.
Fire. You ignited a fire in my soul.
I never knew I could be engulfed in flames and still be alive.
There is no pain nor fear.
There is only life to be found and I owe it to you for teaching me to live; to truly live.
To never take my todays and tomorrows for granted.
And to live everyday like a lifetime.
You taught me that I can take up space and burn bright.
I know one day my body will grow old and weary and fail to work,
but I also know that when that time comes,
I will have no regrets because you helped spark a fire in me that no one else knew I had.
And now I have a raging inferno for a spirit.
So, thank you for all of our adventures and friendships along the way.
But most importantly thank you for teaching me how to live.
Thank you, Books.

The author's comments:

I absolutely love books! And I just finished reading Adam Silvera's: They both die at the end.       It's actually the book that really compelled me to write this piece. SO if you haven't already, I strongly advise you to go and read it. The author painted such a beautiful story and really made you think about your own mortality because we aren't promised tomorrow and we often take for granted the time we do have. So, start living everyday like a lifetime, hug your loved ones and always say I love you and goodbye because you never know when it might be your last.
