Memories and Miseries
She crumbles into nothing,
she trembles and she shakes,
she’s discovering very quickly,
How the unbreakable breaks.
The tears fall cold and quickly,
Her stomach is in knots.
With a million memories and miseries
to occupy her thoughts.
She hangs onto the past so tight,
that her hands nearly go numb,
She’s been hurt by you so many times,
that she’s feeling rather dumb.
But still she’s waiting by the phone,
waiting for the call,
so even though it’s all your fault,
she can say sorry for it all.
But you don’t ever call her,
Because you don’t really care,
You’ll be out all night, you’ll be alright,
and she’ll still be waiting there.
One day you’re gonna need her,
to please your jaded heart,
but she’ll have found someone
who doesn’t break her like you did,
Never again to fall apart.
