"Let them hate, so long as they fear me" ~Colligula

A flower, petals delicate and when not in bloom

They hide the precious center from harm and doom

In a tiny room, and all of those whom

Think less of me, they detest me and mess with me, they test me and guess at me, they unrest and jest a fun little fest of festering jesters with gestures vile

A numb layer of skin, thick to the words of these villains,

The millions of billions who dont notice my brilliance

but also to the nurturing nature of that which nurishes,

my intelligence grants me a vision to envision that which others cannot see,

I can be that which others cannot be, I can lead and feed the sea of questions with trees of answers,

both tall and confident, however some can still see through this forrest

Feel the edge on the surface of the flesh, so warm and soft

So inviting and hosptible, so what keeps my blade aloft?

For this is me, the one, the only,

The child that hides among the flowers

Prisoner inside and most lonely

Slowly, his mind the Lotus devours

The rain is the only love they've shown me

And he sits and he cries for hours

Hear me! Listen god damn it! I am not the Lotus

Cant you see?! I am the child, focus!

This isn't some metaphore or some metaphysical writing

I'm dying here! I'm crying here! Losing the reason for fighting

Lightning strikes for the rain is no love,

I am trapped, seeing no light above,

No nurishment for this flower, no reason to bloom

It is closed to protect me and it shall be my doom!

I starve in the center, I could have done better!

If I could just bring in love, if I could have just met her

In another life, another time, for we were once one

We were made stone, flesh and bone, no need to run

Forshame, she was done and left,

I let her go, I loved her

I love her

And so the Lotus encased me,

And the Lotus unfaced me,

The Lotus erased me,

I no longer weep, I reap my dreams

and seep ever deeper in sleep,

wishing to keep her in my reach

The Lotus is locked and she was the key

the key to my heart, for the Lotus is me.

Whoah! This is incredibly unique, powerfully written yet totally fresh; this is so far apart from the poetry typically found on Teen Ink. You've got an amazing voice, and the things you can do with words! Wow, wow, wow. I loved this!

The play on words was perfect. You're styles a lot like mine but I prefer to preform stuff like this, you can make it more emphasized. Seriously though, well done.
