"One day, your life will flash before your eyes; make sure it's worth watching."

Mom takes me to kindergarten; I’m scared to be alone
She says that she must leave; she says she must go home
“Trust me, darling,” she says, as I stand there and cry
“Mommy! Don’t leave! I’m too scared; too shy!”

I’m forced into the room, as I watch other kids play
A blond girl just looked at me; I quickly look away
I am a fish out of water; I am like a snail out of its shell
All I see are noisy kids I do not know, who run, and scream, and yell

Tired of standing by myself my eyes take a stroll around,
I notice a girl sitting far away from the rest of the crowd
I decide to sit beside her; neither of us says a word
But there in the silence, I guess something was heard,

You see I don’t quite understand why, but we both started to laugh
And in that very moment, it seemed we had just conquered half the earth,
Half the earth we had just conquered with our smiles
We played together all the time, the clock tick tick ticking by the whole while

Mom picks me up from kindergarten; I don’t want to leave my new friend alone
She begs me, “Please, don’t leave! Please, don’t go home!”
“Come with me, Darling,” Mother says as we both cry
“Mommy, please don’t make me leave – I don’t want to say goodbye!”
