I've decided that all scientists do is lie:
According to the laws of physics, if I am attracted to you,
you should be attracted to me, too.
So why is it that gravity is not pulling you closer to me?
Why do you feel so far away?
Chemists say that, when triggered,
any compound can have a reaction -
so why is it that my catalyst
does not result in any movement?
Maybe I just don't get it and should give up on
logical explanations and scientific reasonings,
But from where I stand,
only the astronomers have gotten it right:
we might be miles away,
seas apart,
our gravitational pulls on one another so minuscule
that they are irrelevant -
but we still look up at the same stars,
staring up at the same, glistening night sky
