"When we're born we cry, because we feel the pain of living for the first time."- Alice C.

"Always be yourself... Unless you can be Batman. Be Batman."- Andy Biersack

"No matter how hard you try, you can never tame a wild spirit!"- CC

"I am not a monster, I am but a man."- Ronnie Radke

"Suicide is not cowardly! I'll tell you what's cowardly... treating someone so badly that they want to take their own life!"- Ashley Purdy

"I'm an artist and I make art-arty-art-art!"- Andy Biersack

"I'm TOP 'Stressed Out' what does that mean? I'm a rap fiend with a bad lead..."- NF

"I GOT A JAR OF DIRT AND GUESS WHAT'S INSIDE IT!!!"- Johnny Depp

"Make yourself bleed"

Why can't they see-

"You belong on your knees"

-that it's me versus me?

They're not my demons, they're my family..

"Nobody likes you"

It seems there's nobody like me-

"Maybe you can fly too"

-I'm gonna fly away and chase my dreams

"Everybody hates you"

That's not really true-

"Maybe they deserve to"

-I won't listen to you!

"You're not good enough"

But I'm strong enough-

"They won't miss you"

-to live with you!

"You live a lie though"

What would you know-

"You're losing your grip ya know"

But I won't let go!

"Everybody's watching"

...

"Run out of things to say?"

I know they know,

I've been this way,

since a young age!

So what am I to say?

Should I tell them?

"You'll never tell them"

Who I've always been?

"You know it's a sin"

So maybe I can,

Live without you,

Always on my back,

Always in my head,

Tell me what to do,

Should I tell the truth?

The author's comments:

Throughout this song, I am arguing with the part of myself that hates me. The line "They aren't my demons, they're my family" comes from the fact that my 'demons' know me more than anybody. The reason that the lines are separated the way they are, is because my negative-self is interrupting me.

This song is about depression and self-hate. It shows that just because you think you know a person, doesn't mean you know who is in their head.
