There is no real story behind this piece. I usually create pieces because I feel the need to draw. If I don't paint for too long, I get uneasy and restless. Looking back at this piece, I look at the slits in the neck [reminiscent of "cutting"], tribal tatoo-like markings, and lots of smoke. I guess... it goes along with my belief that things we do to change our outward appearance are superficial and only cloud our true inner "sight" of both ourselves and the world around us, hence the clouded and netted eyes. But then again, I've been trained to BS so I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.
