Beauty in the Breakdown

H-1 is the result of a project to create the perfect soldier--one that can adapt to his situation and heal himself. So far, he is the most successful prototype to do both of these--he can grow appendages and skin to fight, defend himself, or repair himself. This comes at a cost, however--every time he changes his body, he damages his telomeres, shortening his life a little each time. H-1 is the main character of a novel I am currently working on, Incandescent Sun.
