Schools should partner with Chat GPT for optimal learning because it can assist teachers in planning lessons, provide helpful information for students to interpret questions, and teach students how to properly use modern developing technology.

ChatGPT provides helpful information and helps students interpret questions. The article, “ChatGPT For Students: How AI Chatbots Are Revolutionizing Education“ published in the eLearning Industry, certified “Great Place to Work“, talks about the benefits ChatGPT has on students at school. Author Jack Mallow, a tech journalist, writes that ChatGPT “Studies have shown that chatbots like ChatGPT can have a significant impact on learning outcomes. By providing personalized support and guidance to students, chatbots can help to improve academic performance and reduce the number of students who drop out of school. ChatGPT is also helping to bridge the gap between students and educators, making it easier for students to get the help they need to succeed”. (Mallow) This suggests that ChatGPT has the ability to save time and provide the necessary resources for a student to succeed in school. This is extremely helpful for a student who has trouble starting an assignment. ChatGPT can provide templates as well as recommendations to make the assignment look great.

ChatGPT is already prominent; it is preferable to use it properly than misuse it. The article “ChatGPT is Everywhere“, published by The Chronicle of Higher Education, an award winning publication, discusses how professors in universities across the U.S. use ChatGPT properly for their advantage. Author Beth McMurtie, senior writer for The Chronicle of Higher Education, states, “After experimenting to see how well it could produce an undergraduate research paper, he has become a proponent of using large language models — with guardrails. One thing ChatGPT does particularly well, he believes, is help students properly learn the ‘basic building blocks’ of effective academic writing.“ This study concludes that ChatGPT with guardrails helps students avoid being accused of plagiarism for their assignment. ChatGPT with guardrails provide building blocks that give the student the ideas to succeed in class without cheating.

ChatGPT assists teachers in planning lessons and giving feedback. The article, “Don’t Ban ChatGPT in Schools. Teach With It.“ published by the New York Times, the top award winning news website, discusses how not only students but teachers can benefit from using ChatGPT responsibly. Author Kevin Roose, a technology columnist for The New York Times, writes “Creating outlines is just one of the many ways that ChatGPT could be used in class. It could write personalized lesson plans for each student and generate ideas for classroom activities. It could be used as a starting point for in-class exercises, or a tool for English language learners to improve their basic writing skills.” (Roose) He also introduces an experience from Jon Gold, an eighth grade history teacher from Moses Brown School. He shares “experimented with using ChatGPT to generate quizzes.“ (Gold) which gave lots of ideas for him. It is clear that ChatGPT benefits teachers in many ways such as evaluating plans, outlining ideas, and organizing daily class agendas. By using ChatGPT, teachers can save lots of time and learn new ways to keep their class engaging.

While concerns about the potential exploitation of ChatGPT exist, it is important to recognize its usefulness and focus on learning to use it responsibly to maximize its benefits for both teachers and students. ChatGPT can offer a significant amount of resources that can assist teachers in lesson planning, providing feedback on student assignments and grading, which can both save teachers valuable time and enhance the learning experience for students. If used properly it can be an invaluable resource to students, allowing them to interpret difficult questions and provide helpful information on complicated subjects. By using ChatGPT effectively, educators can better teach their students and students can learn better than before.
