Moment of Truth

My most embarrassing moment was in the 5th grade when we were doing a school Christmas play in front of the whole school plus our parents. We had been practicing for about a month and I had a big part where I talked for a couple of paragraphs all by myself. I was really excited to do well. The day before the show however, I caught a cold and couldnÕt go to school. I felt really bad because I thought I would miss the big play. The next day I went to school, but I still had a bit of a sore throat. I had a feeling it might be pretty funny when it came to my part. When I was ready to say my line, I was absolutely humiliated by what came out. The whole crowd was silenced by what seemed like forever, of my terrible croaky, crackly voice. My heart dropped, I felt terrible. All I could think of was that squawky voice that had come from my throat. But at least I remembered my line!
