unwelcomed alarms and snooze and eyes half open and late to class and hall pass and single-file and pencil shavings and William Shakespeare and text messages and second period and the teacher who talks too loud and homework check and shut up shut up shut up and I don’t have a pen and passing period and too many stairs and Miss Dragon Lady and iPod headphones and the treatise of government and a phone vibrating in a distance and AP this and AP that and 89% and lunch and the library and my best friend and I love you and I hate you and I remembered my assignment and the school newspaper and Associated Press style and how to conjugate aller- “to go” and “faire”- to do/work/make” and which one is it and sharpie pen and 80s rock lyrics and songs that begin with “All I want” and end with you “you” and the radio’s volume nob and screaming out the passenger window and never really knowing why.
