Laundry Blues
Washing these clothes almost feels wrong. With each new load of laundry, the memories seem to fade. Rationally, I know that this cannot be and is a silly thing to linger upon but somehow, the smells of the camp fire will no longer be the prominent thing that I smile at when I wear that shirt. The sudsy soap fades the deep colors of my tie dye, erasing those first creases of the smiles. Things all must come to an end and fade away, no matter how much we wish it wasn’t so. For now, I will have to cherish each moment of this epic summer through the only way I know how, each fiber of my memory will be devoted to these sun filled days. To the memories, the laughter, the love, the friendship, the boys, the mistakes, the growth and finally, our devout dedication to fun which shall never fade, no matter how many times the loads go rushing by my freckled face.
