I know what the edge looks like
"I know what the edge looks like. It's cold, so cold the stale air you struggle to inhale pours down into your body and wraps around your bones. Cold air like a winter night, leaving your skin numb. There's no one around you. The only consequence that concerns you is how bad it might be after you turn around, head back to the life you were trying to leave. The edge has no second chances, only demise. You can only stand there, waiting for the moment when abandonment finally achieves its victory. The colorless surrounding taunts you. I couldn't tell you what it looks like from below; I haven't gotten to that point yet. But, maybe, one day I'll find it in me to reach the depths of my mistakes. Everyone has their breaking point. I'll join the others who couldn't stand the altitude of this existence. Perhaps, somehow I'll let you know what it's like down there, if it's better. Until then..."
