The Motherhood Rythem
She lived her life looking for a mother, since the time she started to get out of house and see her friends and people in her age always speak out the word ' Mom' whenever a kind woman appears to help them do anything or show them any other motherly attitude. She comes home everyday, from school, and asks her father where her mom is, but the answer she used to get is "You will find out one day".
Amy, the girl, came to the age when she understood everything and knew that every living soul on earth will come to an end one day. But she really was curious to know how....?
One day Amy came back home from high school changed her clothes for lunch. After they were done Amy had a look on her face which her dad knew very well which meant she wants something...
"Dad...Em...How did mom die??" asked Amy waiting for an answer.
But the answer was "Amy, I have told you lots of times that this question would have a useless answer as long as she is already dead". "But I have told you loads of times too that I need to know because she is my mom "said Amy angry that since her mom was dead she doesn't know how, tears were rushing."Amy, stop that and head up to your room do your school work" and so did Amy she headed up to her room feeling hopeless for not getting the answer she wanted. At night, about 8:00 pm, she went down to wish her father good night before she goes to sleep but that wasn't just it "Daddy, why don't you just tell me how did..." before completing the question, her dad, Mr.Severus, jumped off the chair and "AMY PLZ ENOUGH THAT IS TOO MUCH, YOU WILL KNOW LATER NOW JUST CONCENTRATE ON YOUR STUDIES" "NO, I WON'T UNLESS I KNOW, SOMETIMES YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE YOU HATED HER, AND I WON'T SLEEP UNLESS I KNOW" she turned around put on her coat and left the house ignoring her dad's angry calls 'Amy, Amy'.
Amy's Grandfather lives in a nearby house to be near to his son, and his granddaughter after her mother's death. His house's door knocked and when he opened he found it was Amy. "Amy, my dear come in" but her respond was just too crazy. "Will you tell me how mom died?" he smiled at her and let her in.
He took her to the backyard of his house and they sat there and had tea as it was really cold out there. Her grandpa was so quiet until "please tell me" and her grandpa's answer made her regret the moment she thought of asking her dad because all he said was "sure you have to know" "Melody, your mom, was a very loveable person and..? before he could complete, it rained but Amy chose to stay in the rain because she really loved it and believes it brings a happiness to ones soul."Speaking of which Amy, your mom always loved the rain so much" Amy smiled "She had a disease which no doctor ever knew what was it, they all kept on wondering" "Her scariest day was the day she was giving you birth, she feared that this disease would go to you by inheritance but when the doctors checked that out, they said that you were free from any disease, at that day she was the happiest on earth" "She loved you so much that she promised to keep you safe as long as she lives, and she said she always loved to see you a sleep because you remind her of angels, so she always stayed at her free time thinking of a rhythm to let you here before every sleep so you could move to the world of dreams peacefully" Amy finally spoke and asked "and did she?" "Yes she did. I t took her a pretty long time but she finally did it." "Your father always liked hearing that rhythm from your mom; she had such a charming voice." "When she came to sing it to you before your sleep, she suddenly stopped before she could even complete it" "She died, right?" "Yes, she died; she couldn't bare the disease anymore and left to the hereafter" Amy was heart broken and annoyed, heart broken because she couldn't remember what the rhythm even was but annoyed more because she didn't know why did her father have to hide that. Well she was tearful for sometime because of hearing how kind was her mom but then she stopped because crying for her death which was 17 years ago won't bring her back; she was a year when her mom died.
She was back home at 11:00 pm and found her father waiting for her but not as angry a she was the time she left. "Amy, where were you I was really worried" "I was at Grandpa's house" she answered avoiding his sight. "Why did you have to hide all that?" her father understood that she knew it but before wonders she said "Yes, he told me everything" "I just feared to tell you that she had a disease, that’s it." "WHY? you didn't think I am gonna be ashamed of her did you? I f you did let me tell you that you were wrong" "Good Night" and when she turned to go to sleep he apologized and she accepted it with a smile and headed up.
When Amy entered the room and tried to sleep she couldn't so she went back to her dad. "Dad I am not able to sleep, can I stay awake with you?" "No go back to bed and try to, that is what I feared, can't sleep thinking of your mom right?" "No dad I think I am just suffering from insomnia" answered Amy "Ok then I'll listen to some songs on my mp3" "Do whatever you want but on bed" she went back to her room and when she tried her mp3, the battery was empty, so she just stared at the ceiling leaning on her back on the bed. When everything around was quiet she heard a very beautiful voice singing that she didn't know from where but all she knew that it made her sleep so deep.
The next morning……"Dad did you hear that rhythm yesterday, I think it was coming from outside, it made me sleep immediately, the woman singing it had an enchanting voice" "No there wasn't any voice last night besides the window of your room shows the backyard of the house how could you hear voices" said her dad wondering what voice would come from a backyard. "If she sings tonight I'll call you to hear it" "Anyways don't want to be late to school byes" she kissed her dad on the cheeks and left. Her day had nothing special, same as every day's routine. When it was time to sleep she went to bed and heard the same rhythm again so she called her dad upstairs. "Do you hear that now?" "Nops "No dad focus, can you hear her?" but he actually couldn't hear anything "Amy I think your exams made you hallucinate these days sleep and stop imagining things" then he kissed her on her forehead and left.
That voice kept invading Amy's sleep every night for a week but she couldn't figure out what that is until…"Dad, today is mothers day" "Yea I know it comes every year so?" but then she asked "Daddy as long as she is not here so I could buy her a gift can I open her locked closet, please" her father smiled and said "Amyyyy…" gasped for a moment but then he agreed. She was really happy and rushed to her mom's locked closet and unlocked it. She found a box in there so she opened it to check it out, she found her mom old accessories so she tried them on her, found pictures of her mom with her dad and her and last but not least found a tape. She thought of trying that tape thinking it might include a conversation between her mom and her or anybody else but when she tried all she could here was a rhythm by her mom's voice, she was too happy to finally hear the rhythm but before she could focus on it, it stopped. The last verse of the rhythm made her remember the one she hears at night and think they match. So that night when her father was asleep she turned on the tape to hear it in her room but when the tape stopped, the voice in the room for Amy's satisfaction, completed the rhythm in the tape. Amy now knew what that voice was so she cried a lot not able to stop her tears from flowing. The next morning Amy got her father the tape and the cassette and made him hear it. Her father was shocked but that shock was nothing to his amazed expression when Amy, with the same tone as her mothers' closed her eyes and completed the rhythm.
"Dad don't know how explain how did I know the rest of the rhythm, you can say it is a mother to daughter secret connection, but it made me figure out 2 things, the 1st is that no rhythm in the whole world would have no meaning when coming from the heart and the 2nd thing is that mom's rhythm meant to show that how much ever is the distance between the daughter and her mother, nothing would separate them even death couldn't interfere" Amy said that tearfully she was totally sobbing and so she made her dad. The 2 things she figured out where so important but the only thing will try to find out too is was hearing voice of her mom a sweet dream or is it as she said to her dad a mother to daughter secret connection……
