Five Best Friends
They are the only ones who understand me. I am the only one who understands them. Five best friends who are always there for each other. Five who truly care. Five crazy girls who get along so well. From my phone I can hear them, but my mom tells me to hang up.
Their compassion isn't secret. They send protective messages to anyone who challenges their loyalty. They stand up and hold down and grab the hand of each other between the hard times and fight for their best friends and never quit their commitment. This is how they care.
Let one forget her reason for being, they’d all stop like a speeding car at a red light, each wrapping their arms around each other. Believe, believe, believe, they say when I’m sad. They comfort.
When I am too scared and too anxious to keep believing, when I am so small against this huge world, then it is my friends I turn to. When there is nothing left to hope for. Five who believe despite negativity. Five who help and do not forget to listen. Five whose only reason is to be a helping hand.
