The world is indeed comic, but the joke is on mankind.

H.P. Lovecraft

Stepping through the archway into infinite darkness was the easiest decision I've ever made, almost as if it wasn't my decision at all. I don’t even know why I’m here, but I've had this calling for as long as I can remember, and to resist it any longer would drive me insane. I feel like this is my only purpose. Stepping forward, I’m plunged into a darkness
so maddening, so excruciating, yet so captivating. I move onward, slowly, with my hand on the smooth stone walls, feeling my way forward.

I can’t tell if it’s incredibly dark, or I have lost my eyesight all together, and as I move further I hear groans of pain and woe, as if from those who weren't as fortunate as I.

A sudden rush of surreal panic overcame me, I could feel a presence, and a sinister one at that. There was an intruder in my mind, an unwelcome guest reading all of my memories, tampering with them, like taking a pen to an ancient manuscript of unimaginable wealth. Within minutes I was dazed, confused, spun around. Where was I? WHO was I? I know nothing, and can only attempt to piece my fragmented mind together.

My only purpose is to move forward.

So I do, or, at least until I feel the presence again. But now it was different, it felt less like an intruder, and more like coming home to a warm, welcoming father.

I fall into his arms, rejoicing our reunion.

I fall to ground, lifeless, as my soul is absorbed into his; The great demon Blehogg.
