Disclusion because of looks in Try-Out Clubs
When trying out for an activity or club you always try your hardest and do your best but what if after all your anxious waiting for the list to come out you see it and your name isn’t listed, but then you realize only the girls with the ideal body image made the team how would that make someone feel, probably insecure about their bodies because they aren’t the shape or structure of all the other girls. This type of thing happens every day in schools, colleges, and sports activities because that girl or boy isn’t the height, look or body type that is ideal or is needed to be popular or even get on a team.
A report that was sent in from a local 8th-grade reporter interviewed a student that knows someone personally that that said, “the coach said she probably wouldn’t make the team because she was too short” Molly and 8th-grade student from PVMS said out of tension as even if you are to short you should still have an equal chance to join and participate in a group where you are doing something that you really like to do.
Another report sent in from a PVMS 8th-grade student was that “they didn’t want us on the team not because we were bad but because we didn’t look like all the ideal girls with the ideal body type that had actually gotten on to the dance team.” says an 8th grader who thinks looks shouldn’t matter and that anybody and every body deserves to be a part of a team.
If you don’t get on a team because of your looks put it behind you and try again with a new team that will accept you for who you are and what you look like, as no one should ever judge you for being yourself as you were meant to be who you are today.
