Boom! Boom! Boom! That was the sound of lighting! 

Last year when my neighbors were in Florida I and my family just got back from Florida, a couple days ago. When I and my family were at home It was really stormy like gray and blue during the night and the scariest part was that there was on ground lighting too. 

This was a super scary time because it was also really really windy outside. My sisters were very scared at this point by the flashes of lightning. Then we got a text from two families my mom used to babysit. The first family my mom used to babysit said that a tornado touched down and hit their house pretty bad. My mom got another text saying that another family my mom used to babysit said that a tornado touched down in their backyard. When my families heard about the tornado we felt devastated because it could have been worse than what it really was. When I told my younger siblings they freaked out and said tornado!! This was super scary on only one night and hearing all these devastating times that happened. The biggest thing is that you never know when a lightning strike could hit.

The biggest thing was the sound of the lighting that had just hit our neighbors  house. We all thought it was our house because we heard our house shake a lot. 

This was the scariest thing that has happened! 

When the lighting struck our house our alarm system was starting to go off and my parents had to wake up to make sure everything was okay in our house. 

When my parents heard the loud lighting they thought there had to be a lighting struck somewhere close to our house. We figured out that our neighbors house was struck by lightning and saw there was a hole in their garage window and saw that the lightning hit and traveled all the way from the right to the left side of their house.

It was a blessing that our neighbors were not home during this terrifying and scary moment. Since they were not home my parents called them to tell them that your house has been struck by lighting. When they heard the news they freaked out. Saying Omg!! What just happened!! 

My parents told our neighbors that we were going to call the fire department to make sure there were no fires in the house. The fire department smelled to check for any fires! The fire department did not see any fires which was good news. My parents told my neighbors that there were no fires in the house. 

This was one of the craziest moments that feared my siblings and my family because we kept thinking “what if we were in this situation”. Our neighbors were almost home which was good because they can check their house and see what was damaged. My parents stayed up till our neighbors got home. This was scary for us because our neighbors are not just our neighbors. 

They are like part of our family because we are so close to them. We call our neighbors and our family #family tribe. This is why this scary moment was so important to I and my family. I will never forget the time my neighbors house got struck by lightning because my neighbors are like family to me and my family.
