Nightly Visits
Twiggs snapped under my feet as I trudged through the graveyard. I could see the shadows of marble headstones cast by the full moon above the trees. Off in the distance, a wolf began to howl, the sound of its cry echoing in my ears. Fog began to rise, creating an erriness I had never experienced. I placed my hand on a smooth rock; my fingers drifting over the markings etched on its middle. A crow perched itself on the headstsone and our eyes met. It let out a screech, as if alerting the deceased of my presence. I slowly slipped away from the scene, vowing to return in the morning.
