My Soul at Night
Sleep should come quickly, but it does not. Something stirs in the night. Dark and lonely, my soul feels empty. There is a knock at my soul’s door. The goddess of Dreams? No, only the thoughts of the day. The laughter, the tears, the anger. All memories. Many are unwanted, but can not be discarded. They must be kept as reminders. Or just memories of the day. My soul is full. But still, it is dark and lonely. Wishing for more. Wanting something else. Waiting for nothing. Sleep will never come. The Dream goddess will never knock. At least for this night.
