Bad Luck
Okay girls does everyone have money to go to the mall?” the mom said “Yes Mrs. Rose” they all
replied. “What is the rush to go to the mall?” said Mrs. Rose
“We need to get to Forever 21 before all the sale is over.”
They all got in the car and left for the mall as soon as they got there it was getting dark.
“Okay, Lisa you Mandy and Angie call me when you’re ready to go remember the mall closes at 9
o’clock.”
They nodded their heads and walk away. “I hope there are a lot of sweaters left,” said Lisa.
“Yes, Mandy what time is it?” asked Angie. “Its almost 8:30 I hope the store isn’t closing yet!” exclaimed
Mandy.
They to the elevator and walk to the far end of the mall to the store. When they got there they saw
the store was closed. “Wow, are you serious?” said Mandy.
“Now what are we going to do that was there last sale now we don’t have nothing to wear for the party,” said Lisa.
“Your right I guess we can’t go,” said Angie.
“Just call your mom Lisa let’s just go home, “Mandy said.
Lisa called there mom and met back up with her at the food court.
“Why do you girls look sad?” asked Mrs. Rose.
“The store was closed! “exclaimed Lisa
“I’m sorry girls, what are you going to do for the party?” asked Mrs. Rose.
“Were not going” said Lisa.
They walked back to their car and drove home.
On they were at the end of the street when they saw a car parked in there drive way.
“Whose car is that?” Lisa said.
“I have no clue,” said Mrs. Rose
They parked next to the curb and went in the house.
There was an old lady sitting on the couch.
“Grandma!” Lisa said.
“ Hi baby,” said the grandma, ‘where have you girls been I have been waiting for a while.”
“We were at the mall grandma but when we got there the stores were closing up” said Lisa.
“Oh, okay dear I was just worried that’s all,” said the grandma.
Lisa sat down next to her grandma and gave her a hug.
“Why are you here mom how’s dad?” Mrs. Rose said.
“That’s why I’m here your father is getting very sick and he wants to see you,” said the grandma.
Mrs. Rose sat down beside Lisa and held her hand.
“Okay, Angie and Mandy I guess it’s time for me to take you home now I’m very sorry about the party.”
Said Mrs. Rose.
Angie and Mandy got in the car and Mrs. Rose drove them home.
When she got back her and Lisa packed a bag of clothes and left with the grandma.
When they arrived at the grandma’s house they went straight upstairs to see the grandfather.
“Dad, how are you?” Mrs. Rose said.
“I’m not doing too well my dear,” the grandfather.
“Well what’s wrong mom told me you wanted to see me,” said Mrs. Rose.
“I’m dying Rose I have lung cancer, “said the grandfather.
Mrs. Rose sat beside her dad and cried.
“You can’t be dying no, you can’t!” exclaimed Mrs. Rose.
Lisa and the grandma walk up the step to the grandfather and sat around his bed talking.
Later that night Mrs. Rose father died the funeral was to be held in a week.
