Why Me?

i put in my head phones and close my eyes. "hold it in, don't let them see you cry" i tell myself. why do i want to cry? why am i always sad? why can't i just be happy? the pictures. the ones i see in my head every time i close my eyes. every time i blink. i try to ignore them. i try oh so hard.. why me. what did i do to deserve this. of him to use me the way he did. to make me watch him beat her. to beat me. i see his face every day.. again i ask.. why me?
