Jay's dream
expression on his face, the kind of guy who always made sure he looked clean and never unclean. He very hungry and was so excited to get home and eat some food after a tough day of stocking shelves over and over again after kids ran through the store knocking things on the floor and it almost felt out of spite to him.
It was just a normal night as he began his journey home which was about a thirty minute walk home since his mother had the car and he couldn’t get a ride with anyone. He walked past train stations and broken down buildings and hearing noises like cars and planes and it all sounded like music to him. He loved where he lived; the city was where he believed to be his true home. He heard yells from some friends across the street from where he was walking; he waved and smiled at them.
Jay finally arrived home to find his house a mess as usual because his mother was rarely home, she was always working for Jay and her and trying to keep food on the table and clothes for Jay. He always told his mother she worked too hard for him and that she needed to just take a break and just enjoy life but she always turned the conversation on him by telling him that she wouldn’t enjoy life is he didn’t have a good life. This of course made him feel loved more than anyone in the world but also made him feel like a burden. He wanted to turn this life around for him and his mother but couldn’t think of anything that would help right away.
He looked in the cabinets and only found some crackers and a can of lemonade, he grabbed it and sat down in front of the TV and started to watch whatever he could find that was interesting and finished his food then the next thing he knew he woke up to the sound of his mom waking him up for breakfast and telling him that she had made pancakes.
He smiled and got right up and went to the table to eat his food. He noticed that the house was really clean and asked his mom when she had time to clean all this and she answered by telling him she stayed up all night again working. Jay told his mother not to do that, but he hugged her and went to his room to get ready for his day of working and hanging out with friends because he had dropped out of school to help his mom get money to keep paying rent, since he didn’t have work until seven he had time to kill.
After he had gotten ready for the day and had eaten breakfast he grabbed some money and went to go talk to his best friend, Reggie. He and Jay had been best friends since kindergarten, they went to the same school for their whole way up to when Jay dropped out, and when Jay dropped out so did Reggie because he didn’t like school much, too much learning he always said. They decided to go to a gas station to pick up sodas then go to the movies, the whole time Jay had his mother on his mind and he wanted to figure out a way to finally make a breakthrough so his mother didn’t have to work so hard.
Once he and Reggie were out and walking to the store to get food, Jay brought up the ideas of him making enough money to move his mother out of the poverty stricken city and out to the country where his mother always dreamed to live, Reggie brought up that Jay is a very good musical artist and that he should record music and try to make it as a rapper. At first he thought it was crazy but after thinking it over he didn’t think it was so crazy. People all over the world make it as artists, why couldn’t he?
The first thing Jay did when he got home was call up the local recording studio and reserved time for him to record some music to start to promote. It was going to be tough but Jay would do anything to get his life on the right track. He and Reggie couldn’t wait to get in the studio and start to record, he was so excited he could barely sleep.
