Winter
Another day, filled with endless falling snowflakes. Thankfully it's not below freezing, but the cold still bites at my nose. With my tea in hand, I watch as the snow slowly begins to accumulate on the surfaces around me. It covers the footprints of the friendly deer that occasionally pass through, erasing their trace. And I sit quietly in my blanket, shielded by the porch roof. As the landscape adds another layer of white, a door opens and closes abruptly and the neighbor's dog comes sprinting out. He jumps and nips at the small white flakes that rain from the sky, hoping to catch them. Recklessly tossing snow all around himself. Satisfied with his destruction, he begins his walk. Behind him lies a new trail, soon to be covered by the blanket of snow.
