Three Little Words
March 20, 2010
The last trace of sunset settled across the sky.
They sat in his car, his hands fidgeting in his lap.
She watched him as he moved nervously, her heart racing, praying for him to speak.
He swallowed his fear and spoke the three words that would forever change their lives.
"I have cancer."

I liked it, but I'm sorry to hear that it's true and personal. I have a piece called Never Again that's also a true story, if you want to check it out.

Thanks! It was meant to be like an "I love you" moment, but instead the three little words were "I have cancer." Its kind of a true story/personal experience, and I ended up using it for my English class. Glad you guys liked it. :)

Nice! I thought it was gonna be "I love you" as the three little words. I loved this poem!
