Every Day, It Breaks
“Don’t go”, I said.
The look that I was given was heart-breaking.
“It’s not my decision to make”, was the reply.
There was a silence.
“It’s not fair”, I said looking into those eyes that were illuminated by the sunlight behind them. It was sunrise, and the light went through those eyes.
“He is not your father. We can see each other if we want”, I continued.
“You think I like it any more than you? Every time I leave, I’m alone.”
“You don’t have to listen to them, or any of them.”
“I have no choice. It’s just the way things are.”
“I want you back. They can’t keep you like this forever.”
“You can’t do anything about it. Neither can I.”
“I’ll do whatever it takes!” I said, “I miss you.”
There was a pause.
“I miss you too.”
“Then help me get you back here.”
“I can’t. I don’t know how. I--No, I’m being pulled back!”
“I can’t live like this! You have to come back.”
“One day, we’ll have redemption. I love you”
“I love you too”, I said as the ghostly figure vanished, again as it already has many times. And now we’re separated, but we are still connected. Connected over two different plains of existence. And I need to find him. Because he’s like my brother. And I love him.

STAY, O sweet and do not rise!
The light that shines comes from thine eyes;
The day breaks not: it is my heart,
Because that you and I must part.
Stay! or else my joys will die
And perish in their infancy.
- John Donne
