The Book Ender?s Game was a very interesting and enticing book. Ender is a smart boy with excellent strategies. He finally has to take the “chip” out of the back of his neck. This little “chip” is implanted into the children so that they are monitored for their actions, thus seeing if they would win in a battle between the buggers. Buggers are aliens that almost destroyed the human race, if it weren’t for Mazar Rackham. He destroyed the entire fleet of Buggers with one smart move, and the humans won. But they knew that the buggers would be back soon. And so they need to train people who would be able to accomplish smarter tactics. Ender is picked to go to Battle school, which is in outer space. There he learns to strategize and fight in the war. He then tries to break out of his hollow shell to prove to everyone that he can do this, that no one can tell him what to do. That one day he will lead his own army. During his schooling he has gained allies and enemies. But he is soon to learn that even his teachers are enemies, you learn from them. And that’s how you fight back. Most of his time up at school he has been taught to battle in zero gravity with the help of his friend Alai and his other teammate Petra, from Salamander army, they all learn new techniques with the help of Ender. And soon Ender is legendary at his new school, but when he gets his own army things get bad for him. He is making more enemies as he defeats other teams. His strategies cannot be matched as the once lame dragon army, is now lead by one of the smartest child in his generation. While this is happening in space, down on earth Ender’s brother and sister are posting newspaper clips that provide many tactics to what is going on during the preparation of war. They disguise themselves as Locke and Demosthenes, and the people are listening and commenting on everything. Too bad Peter has some plans.


Though the plot of the movie stayed the same the movie was a little different. For one Locke and Demosthenes was not included to the story, leaving everyone to wonder what happened to Peter and Valentine while Ender was in space. The movie also rushed the beginning and Ender’s training, also making the people wonder what is going on. Also some scenes seem to be changed, for example: Ender is supposed to meet a child named Bean after he becomes a leader of Dragon army. But in the movie, he meets him on the way to battle school. Though they misplaced it, the vibe still felt normal on their friendship. And Enders Character is slightly different. In the book he is a sweet boy, but in the movie he seems more violent and sarcastic. The graphics of the movie were quite impressive, the battle room for example was a lot more extravagant than I thought it to be, it had a view of earth from outer space. Also the battle school itself was much more complicated than I imagined, It was like a long rod, that rotates and moves.



The book was so much better than the movie; sure it was cool to see what we were reading about, but the book has more of a feel to it. What really made me upset was how much stuff they took out. It broke me right in what many people on the Internet; including myself, the feels. So many feels of sadness and happiness, basically mixed emotions and feelings. There were so many emotional feelings in the book that they decided not to include. Like the emotional moment between Ender and his brother Peter, where his brother finally says that he loves and appreciates his brother. But the movie was still good; I give it a rating of 5 out of 10. If you want to read a good book then read Ender’s Game and if you feel like you want to see it for yourself, then go see the movie.
