“How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live.”
― Henry David Thoreau

Flowers slipped from my grasp to the fresh grass. Tears cascaded from my eyes. My fingers slid over the etched stone. "Sara. Sara." Her name dripped from my lips like a leaky faucet. "Why you?" I shut my eyes. That feeling of emptiness lingered.

The leaves fluttered in the wind. I felt someone behind me. "I can fix it," the man said.

I soared to my feet. Through my cries, "make it right," I demanded; my snot landing on his suit.

"Done." He snapped his fingers.

I backed to the marker. I felt a slight pain building up in my chest. I glanced back. The man wasn't there. The pain overcame me. It pierced my being. My legs gave out. Dirt filled my mouth. I stretched my hand toward the grave. I shut my eyes. "Sara, my love." She echoed in my mind, my only love. "I'll see you soon."
