Dear R.l Stine,

Hi!!! My name is Lilly I’m 14 and I’m from Manhattan New York. I’m currently in 8th grade. Some of the things I enjoy doing during my spare time is listening to music, playing handball ( a very enjoyable sport) and well doing things normal 14 year olds do. I fell in love with your books when I was in 5th grade. I’ve read many of your books such as Halloween Party, Killer’s Kiss, and The Boyfriend etc. I don’t really have a favorite book by you because well frankly, I love all of them. Each book is a thriller.

You are one of my favorite authors. After reading a few of your books I started to notice a pattern in your writing. The characters you create are similar to each other. For example in the beginning your main character is some kid that gets picked on, but overtime this kid does something heroic and everyone likes him. Or the main character is this mean popular person or a bully and throughout the story they change and it’s like they become someone entirely new, and everyone likes them and become friends. I noticed an example to support what I say. In the book Halloween Party, the main character was this wimpy kid who everyone picks on, but unexpectedly he gets invited to a party. During this party his friends start disappearing one by one, the main character was “heroic” enough to stand up and saved everyone from being killed. Or in the book The Boyfriend, Jane the main character was a person who treated poor and lame people like crap. Soon things started to happen to her and slowly she regrets what she does and apologizes

I noticed that you do an excellent job writing Scary/Mystery books. I mean the way you write makes the reader want to read more. It’s like with every turn of a page it blows your mind away. Sometimes when I’m reading your book, I get so scared because you make your writing sound so real. It’s like I’m in the book experiencing what the characters are experiencing. It’s like I’m part of the drama this roller coaster ride. I know it may sound clique but hey I can’t help it if your writing is fantastic.

Finally I have some questions to ask you. How did you learn to write with some much suspense and drama? What inspired you to write about murders, disappearing and ghosts etc? I hope you will get a chance to answer these questions. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
