A Day of Silence
Every word I said was judged. Criticized, twisted, broken.
So one day I stopped speaking.
Every step I took was analyzed, rejected, mocked.
So one day I stopped walking.
Every breath I took was glared at, hated.
So one day, I was done.
I put my foot down.
I was better than this.
So I breathed again. I walked again.
I spoke again.
But today, I stop speaking.
Not because it hurts, but because of so many others who feel the way I did. I stop talking to show them all that they are not alone. Together, we can get through this. Together, we can learn to speak.
