Did you know? About 60,000 to 70,000 cell phones are sold every day in the United States. Over 1 billion people worldwide own or use cell phones. Every day, the majority of us use a cell phone. We love those things; they make our lives easier, faster, and more fun. However, cell phones are not risk-free.
Using a cell phone triggers the production of EMR, or electromagnetic radiation, which is a dangerous sort of energy wave produced by many modern appliances which surround us in our everyday lives. The worst producers of EMR are cell phones. People who use cell phones often are more likely to have attention span disorders such as ADD and ADHD, one study finds. The same study discovered that using cell phones a lot is linked to the causes of depression. A commonly found result of cell phones usage is difficulty sleeping.
These problems, while certainly not unimportant, pale in contrast to some of the other horrors that EMR can cause – genetic diseases. The worst of all problems that are associated with cell phone use, these problems include immune system deficiencies, childhood and adult leukemia, eye cancer, brain tumors, and other genetic disasters.
Children and teenagers ages 8-16 are even more likely to experience health problems and diseases like the ones above. Thinner and smaller skulls make it much easier for radio waves to permeate the bone, and slim bone structures more easily absorb the radio waves, trapping them. However, this should not by any means be understood as “people over 16 are at no risk of developing health problems”. Anyone who uses a cell phone is at risk. Only using the phone for a short period of time doesn’t help – the radio waves are dispatched within seconds. The only 100% proven way to decrease the chance of contracting a disease from EMR is not to use cell phones at all.
Although most of us are not going to completely stop using our cell phones, it is a good idea to do what you can to decrease the effect that the EMR waves have on you and the people around you. For one, you can try not to hold the phone next to your ear when you talk. Instead, put the phone on speaker and hold it farther away from your head. This way, when the waves hit you they aren’t as strong as when they’ve only been traveling for a couple of centimeters. You can also stop using your cell phone when you’re in a small room. If you are outside, the radio waves that the cell phone emits won’t rebound. Also, do away with wired headsets. Although they are useful, the electric current moving through the wire attracts even more radio waves from other EMR-emitting devices nearby. Don’t use your cell phone as a wake-up alarm because the whole night it will be emitting EMR waves throughout your room. Not only is this a serious health issue, but it will also make it harder to get to sleep, stay asleep, and wake up in the morning.
Lots of other devices emit EMR radio waves, like microwaves, laptops, and radio towers, but these aren’t nearly as bad as the worst offender – cell phones. You can’t change everybody, but even implementing a few of these ideas can decrease your exposure to EMR and therefore decrease your chances of contracting the diseases and deficiencies.

There is no proof that cell phones are real harmful to humans. Those people they did the study with are a very small group and a very short time work study. cell phones emit microwave radiation, which non ionizing, it means that it does not have enough power to break or damage your DNA by removing electrons. Meaning, it's not as strong as x-rays or gama rays.. You need to do more research, for example, look at WHO they did a lot of research regarding health risk on cell phones. Nice try tho.

This is spreading incorrect information and/or lieing.

Do you honestly know anything about EMR, electromagnetic waves, or any physics about it?

essay is wrong.  Cell phones emit microwave readiation, which non ionizin, which means it soes not have enough energy to break or damage or DNA by removing electrons.  Radiation that would be harmfull would be xrays or gama rays.  You should do more research next time

Ha! I love this! I'm thirteen and I have never had a cell phone in my life because there's no reception at my house. Now whenever people laugh at my for not having one, I'll tell them about this. At least I'm not going to get radiation poisoning!

You are awesome!

Note, however, that only using a phone for a few minutes doesn't help much. However, extra EMR waves are only called in when you use a cell phone to make calls, access the internet, or text/picture mail someone. So checking the time or playing downloaded games aren't as dangerous.

If you use a cell phone for only a few minutes a day (about 1 phone call) then this will hardly affect you. But if you're on your phone constantly (always texting, calling, checking your email or the time, or playing games) then these things are a real danger. I suggest limiting your cell phone use to checking the time and calls that you need to make. Everything else is what computers and iPods are for. (Actually, computers also emit EMR waves, but cell phones are about four times as bad; you don't put your head to the screen, now do you?)

Wow looks like some pretty crazy stuff. But I do have a question, how long do you have to be using your cell phone before these effects start happening? I also think that those little phones that go on your ear aren't good, looks like all the radio waves are going into your head. Thanks for writing that, interesting stuff. :)

Thanks for reading; I'm glad you learned something. To answer your question, earphones are actually worse than regular cell phones. Instead of 85% of the rays going inside your ear and the rest bouncing around the outside and eventually going away, when you wear head phones the source is forced inside your ear and 100% of the EMR rays get inside your head. Trust me, you don't want that.

Wow, I had no idea about this. Well, I have a question. You said to hold the phone away or put the person on speaker, but what if you use the earphones that plug into the phone that have a microphone. The phone is usually far away, but do the earphones have the dangerous effect as the phone becuase they are connected?
