I found Karmen Robinsons article “They want my culture, but not my history” very relatable. She addresses a problem of ignorance, and discrimination. She talks about how African American history wants to be forgotten and not remembered in America. How “They want our hairstyles, jewelry, food and etc, but they don't want the hundreds of years of pain and suffering”. America is my country, and it is known for equality, and justice. Though it does have an underlying cause of racism, and injustice, that leads back to mountains of history. This piece made me more aware of the cultural appropriation in America. Thank you Karmen for this intriguing piece.
