“Small But Strong” is a college essay written by Sophia Schwartz talking about how being a small, five - foot girl doesn’t necessarily make her weak. She talks about her struggles and how she deals with them She has her own definition for what she thinks makes her strong, which could mean running a four hundred meter sprint despite having “cinder block” legs. Schwartz talks about how track tested her body. It helped her grow physically by testing her endurance. She has difficulty breathing due to small lung capacity so she informs readers about how she uses breathing exercises to train her breathing.

I think this piece is really inspiring, especially for other people who are “small.” Schwartz discusses how she copes with being small and what she does to feel strong. She found a passion, something she enjoys to participate in because it makes her competitive and test her limits. Readers could be sparked from this idea and do the same.
