Parents Need To Take Their Teen's Mental Health Seriously

I agree with Clarence Richmond in his article "Parents Need To Take Their Teen's Mental Heath Seriously" when he mentions that parents need to be serious about the mental health of their teens. By playing off their children's mental status as their hormones acting up, it makes it harder on them to speak about their problems because the parents make the teen feel like it isn't a big deal, when it is. Many teens "between the ages of 13 and 18 are suffering." If the children were able to speak with their parents and feel safe doing so, then teen suicide and mental breakdowns would begin to decrease. Without the pressure of not feeling safe, teens will feel the "weight has been lifted off of their chest." Thank you, Clarence for bringing this to the attention of other people.
