The writing titled “The Value of Money,” written by Drew Yeager, talks about the value of money and why people shouldn’t ask their parents for things. The authors writing left me feeling guilty. This writing made me think of many memories from when I was a little kid. I would always want to go to the store with my mom so I could ask for candy or toys that I wanted. The author writes, “I cannot remember a time where I didn’t beg for something at the store.” That reminds me of myself when I was a kid, I always wanted something whether it was a toy or candy. The author states, “I had no real knowledge about the value of money.” When I was a kid I never thought of how much things cost; I never thought about the value of money. Now that I am grown up I see why my parents didn’t always want to buy me things that I asked for. It is a lot of money to constantly buy things now that I have my own money I understand because I don’t want to spend it.
