I agree with Kay's knowledge of the importance of reading and books for young minds. Nowadays, people acknowledge reading if its on social media, but not if it's in a textbook or paperback. The trend today is kids read for homework but not because they want to. I especially like when the author states reading helps develop "the ability to connect with others." Empathy isn't common right now because we text, but reading reminds us we don't all think the same and we don't all feel the same. It teaches us to be kind and try and understand one another.
