“Step, Jump, Leap, Land in pass...” This poem tells the audience about the author, Alexandra L, and her dance steps she is doing. “The Twirler” is extremely visual. As a dancer myself, I can perfectly imagine the dance movements. I also enjoy how she ends the poem by saying, “The music dies.” Every single line of the poem is something about dance, “Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Step chasse, Back rock, hold for two..”. Because of the title and the movements, I can imagine that this choreography is based on ballet. I enjoy how instead of describing her dance, she tells us exactly what she is doing. This is a very clever piece of poetry and anyone, especially dancers, will enjoy reading it.
