"The Ghost of Christmas Past"
I wholeheartedly agree with Spencer W.'s article,The Ghost of Christmas Past, and believe the overall feeling of Christmas begins to slowly fade as time transcends. The overall feeling of Christmas, the effervescent warmth you get as a child when you see Christmas slowly beginning to creep up is shown countless times in this article. As a person whole always enjoys the cheer and feeling of Christmas, this article captured my attention quickly. I feel as though society as a whole, attempts to portray Christmas as something much more than it truly is. However, most households do not go to extremes to maintain the status quot, due to financial and religious reasons, but the feeling of joy and cheer is maintained regardless.
