The Homecoming
Matraca Lawrence's article "The Homecoming" did a perfect job at describing the internal anguish that comes with the homecoming of a loved one in the military. Recently, I dealt with the return of my boyfriend after three months gone with the Marines. Her pain, her guilt, and her fear were all too real to me. Her emotions mirrored my own. I think her article perfectly portrayed the emotions someone feels when a loved one in the armed services returns. I thank Matraca for capturing those emotions and putting them into words, and for showing everyone what it's like during the return of a service member.
