As I flipped through the thin pages of Teen Ink, I came across “Vampires: Scary or Sexy” by MeriElena. At first I debated whether or not to read it because the topic of vampires was pretty clichéd to me. However, I decided to find out what it was about. As I dove into the article I realized that it was a piece of non-fiction explaining fiction. MeriElena’s article is filled with detail exposing and explaining what a phenomenon fictitious vampires are. MeriElena includes various examples as she explains how Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs applies to vampires. She includes examples that the reader can relate.
