In “The Discovery of Cool” by Daniel D, a boy figures out that cool isn’t what everyone thinks, its about what he likes.  Daniel had always done his hair the same way, long all around, just like the surfers.  When is feeling insecure about the way he looks, he asks his dad.  “This is awesome! He blurted.,,, It’s what I looked like when I was a kid.”  When Daniel hears this he knows that he wants to change his hair.  The next day he gets his haircut against his parents will. His mom proclaims, “Oh, but honey, you look so handsome!”   Though his parents weren’t supportive of the decision, by letting him get his hair cut finally lets Daniel feel cool.

Though this article was a little odd at first, I thought overall this was a good story.  I like how he related with lots of other teens that try to feel cool by doing what everyone else thinks is “cool.”  I think I could even take this advice into account at times.
