"Some things will never change"---Tupac

What happened to the civilized community?
Where African Americans who embellished class,
felt trust among their fellow Africans.
Where African Americans had no problem
with locking their doors at night [no worries
of thieves]
Where music didn't pound out of speakers or cars
as loud.
Where music was just a sweet tune without the vulgar
lyrics.
Where boys wore belts or suspenders to secure
the hold of their pants.
Where women didn't intoxicate their hair with
chemicals for beauty.
Where women carried relationships with one man and vice versa.
Where women respected their bodies and were
careful of their virginity.
Where babies born with dark-pigment skin were not
considered ugly.
Where money [as insufficient as it may have been]
was used for the needs, rather than wants.
Where love overpowered the feeling of hate.
And rare as it was, the presence of fate.
What happened to the civilized community?

I wrote this based on all the lectures my teacher has given. It was very interesting to learn about.
