Response to "The Modern Zoo"
Patrick's work captured my attention by talking about the reality of zoos. Patrick's piece is about the "unkindness" of zoo's. Zoo's claim to be helping animals or keeping them in captivity for research or education. The Zoo's think that by keeping animals in fake habitats, it will somehow save them from dying in their natural habitat that is getting chopped down or melting. Patrick's main point in his writing to bring awareness to the unjustness of keeping animals in cages just for people to look at.
